Brief Profile of Users

• Three users who had not seen the site before took part in the beta test.  Two musicians looked at the website.  One non-interested friend took part.

Think Aloud task

• Describe your thoughts at the first viewing of the purpose of the website, explore the site and name three pieces of equipment used in the recording studio.

Summary of Think Aloud

• All three users were able to identify the purpose of the website upon viewing the home page.  All three also found the equipment page and were able to identify equipment used on their first try.  One user commented that they did not like the picture used on the home page.

Summary of Posttest

• Discussions following the test came to a consensus that the site was pretty straightforward. 
• There was one user who thought that I should change the picture on the home page and have a more descriptive about page. 
• All three users felt that my equipment page could be more aesthetically pleasing.
• All links work and the users liked that my external link opened in a new window.

Findings to be Implemented

• I will change the picture on the home page
• I will attempt to make the equipment page more aesthetically pleasing

Findings that will not be Implemented

• The simplicity of my website does not require many changes so I will be able to implement any suggestions.
